Here is the English translation of the text.
After Rozenboom released a successful recording of the Goldberg Variations in 2015, he has now made new recordings (a double CD) featuring only Schubert repertoire.
Rozenboom is a very big Schubert fan; his love for the composer was instilled in him from an early age by his father and grandfather, who always had this composer’s piano repertoire readily available. He has been playing the Impromptus and Dances since he was 10 years old, and now, after 30 years of “maturation,” they have gained extra depth.
These recordings are unique because Rozenboom took extensive time to optimize the sound of his instrument in a space with very good acoustics: the chapel of the Mariadal Monastery in Roosendaal.
The album ranges from a very lyrical Schubert in the song transcriptions by Liszt and a subdued Schubert in the four Impromptus, Opus 90, to a frivolous Schubert in over 20 dances, and a virtuosic, extroverted Schubert in the Wanderer Fantasy.
